McGraw-Hill Phonics 1
By following a sequence of classroom activities, the teacher can bring the alphabet and simple texts to life. This series first teaches the letters A-Z in both upper-and lower-case forms. After students feel comfortable with the shapes of the letters, they begin to learn the corresponding phonetic values. The arrangement of these sounds is based on ease of learning rather than the alphabetical order, guiding learners to both pronounce the words on the page and write the words and sentences they hear. This strategy is known as phonics. The McGraw-Hill Phonics series eventually allows students to read and write on their own.
