The Negro Since Emancipation
The words of W.E.B. Du Bois, like the tradition of Negro protest, belong to the present as meaningful as to the past. Here, in a series of autobiographical statement and manifestoes, the most eloquent spokesman of the Negro protest movement-from Reconstruction to the March on Washington-raise their voices once again, assuring the Negr people of their humanity, goading them defiance, attuning the world to their plight.
